ACTION
In an ever-changing world, migration flows are continually being increased. As the EU Cohesion Policy states, social inclusion is one of the eleven priorities for Policy in Social Inclusion in 2014-2030. However, many immigrant learners face problems, such as the following:
- They do not possess the right skills, as well as education levels for today’s VET sector
- They do not know how to “fit in” in VET occupational profiles
- VET programmes are not modernized and tailor-made to their needs.
In line with the above, the ACTION project aims to identify good practices in the field of immigrants’ employability, by designing an OER training programme which will tackle existing skill gaps of VET trainers and staff.
Objectives of the project
- Promoting inclusion and labor market integration of immigrant learners, through the design and delivery of trainings to VET educational Staff and Teachers, as well as to other stakeholders related to immigrants’ labor market integration.
- Offering support to teachers, tutors, staff in VET education and related stakeholders in enhancing their existing programmes and skillset.
- Attracting more VET education providers and experts in immigrants’ labor market integration to the advantages (i.e. in terms of time savings) of using ACTION methodology for reducing immigrants inequality in the labor market.
Expected Results
– Increase of the knowledge capacity of VET trainers / teachers, staff and related stakeholders in immigrants’ labor market desired skills and competences
– Improvement of the existing teaching methodologies and skillset of trainers/teachers and staff in VET education in the area of immigrants’ labor market integration
– Elimination of current skill mismatches of immigrant learners
– Active involvement of stakeholders from all relevant sectors, and promotion of the cooperation among institutional (local and public Bodies) and individual (VET education teachers, learners, staff and learners) stakeholders in fostering immigrants’ labor market integration
– Higher promotion of the use and strengthen of the awareness and visibility of the new training programme.
