The EntreVET project, committed to the creation of a Model Institution within the VET ecosystem and the cultivation of entrepreneurial competencies among VET students, has embarked on the development of a new and innovative curriculum that goes beyond traditional approaches.

The EntreVET Curriculum is based on EntreComp: The Entrepreneurship Competence Framework and is developed according to the learning needs identified through the desk and field research conducted at a national level during the activities of “Project Result 1”, namely in Greece; Poland; Germany; and Belgium.

The Curriculum is composed of 14 Modules, with the initial 6 Modules forming the Core Curriculum. This core part is designed for both VET teachers and staff. Following the Core Curriculum are 4 Modules dedicated to Teacher Specialization and another 4 Modules for VET Staff Specialization.

Each module will include a theoretical and practical part, and the assessment quizzes of the practical component will act as the main prerequisite for the issuance of attendance certificates. Finally, different learning techniques have been considered during the Curricula’s design stage to guarantee an engaging digital asynchronous learning experience.

On this International Day of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), we take a moment to reflect on the transformative potential of the EntreVET project, hosted by our educational organization. With a focus on fostering entrepreneurial spirit among VET students, this initiative aims to enhance their integration into the labor market through upskilling VET staff and teachers. By improving and modernizing the practices of VET institutions, we strive to create a Model Institution that inspires entrepreneurship and empowers VET students to reach their entrepreneurial potential. 

The Link Between MSMEs and Entrepreneurship

Micro, small, and medium enterprises are intricately connected to entrepreneurship, as many individuals choose to start their own businesses as independent professionals or microentrepreneurs. These ventures have the potential to grow into larger companies or remain as thriving MSMEs. Recognizing their significance, such businesses play a vital role in enhancing Europe’s competitiveness, driving economic and technological sovereignty, and fortifying resilience against external shocks.

MSMEs: Contributing to Sustainable Development

The United Nations General Assembly named this special day to raise awareness about the invaluable contributions of MSMEs to sustainable development and the global economy. In line with this, the European Commission’s strategy for SMEs focuses on capacity-building, supporting the twin transition, reducing regulatory burdens, and improving access to financing. The EntreVET project is proud to be supported by the European Union, aligning with these objectives.

The EntreVET Project: Empowering VET Institutions

Through the EntreVET project, we aim to deliver impactful outcomes that support entrepreneurial development in VET institutions. Our key deliverables include:

1. Assessment Tool and Certification Scheme: We are designing and developing an Assessment Tool to evaluate the level of entrepreneurial practice within VET institutions, providing a standardized Certification Scheme to recognize excellence.

2. Open Educational Resources: We are committed to creating and providing open educational resources that cater to the entrepreneurial upskilling needs of VET staff and teachers. These resources will empower educators to inspire and guide students on their entrepreneurial journeys.

3. Policy Recommendations: Leveraging our expertise and insights gained from the project, we will deliver policy recommendations that promote a favorable environment for entrepreneurship in VET institutions.

4. At AKMI, we celebrate MSMEs and recognize their pivotal role in driving sustainable development and global economic growth. Through the EntreVET project, we are dedicated to equipping VET institutions with the tools and knowledge needed to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students.

The Reveal Stakeholders Seminar was successfully held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, bringing together over 30 participants from the education sector, businesses, and vulnerable social groups. This event took place in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, in hybrid form, with the aim of fostering collaboration and empowering individuals to unlock their hidden skills.

The seminar provided an excellent platform for participants to introduce themselves and engage with the innovative iREVEAL platform. Developed to facilitate skill recognition, the iREVEAL platform offers a user-friendly online tool that enables individuals to request endorsements for their soft skills and create online personal skill clouds.

During the event, the project partners tried to shed light on the significance of acknowledging skills acquired outside the formal education system.

“When you learn at school, you receive a diploma. However, for the skills gained in everyday life, there is no diploma. Badges have been invented to make this type of informal learning visible.”

The thought-provoking words resonated with the audience was very interested in emphasizing the importance of recognizing and valuing skills obtained through real-life experiences.

Moreover, during the seminar the potential of local initiatives to transcend geographical boundaries was highlighted.  

“Something can be created locally and be made visible beyond the local community, at EU level… at international level…”

This exciting perspective showcased the vast opportunities that lie within the Reveal project and the iREVEAL platform.

The seminar also included an interactive session during which the participants had the chance to register to the iREVEAL platform, ask for endorsements for their skills from their peers and create their own skills clouds.

The Reveal Stakeholders Seminar served as a catalyst for the formation of a vibrant local community that will actively contribute to the unveiling of individual talents and skills. By harnessing the power of the iREVEAL platform, participants can tap into a supportive network that nurtures personal growth and professional development.

We are delighted to announce that AKMI participated in the final conference of the React for inclusive e-classrooms project that was held on the 𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 in 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐦 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 at the premises of the University of Applied Management Studies.

Over the past two years the REACT project has developed concepts and methods that enable and support collaborative teaching. The topic is of increasing importance in practice and in research and includes multiple aspects such as the usage of 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 and 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 that enable inclusive collaborative settings and the choice of appropriate didactics for different target groups and inclusive digital settings.
