Objectives of the project

The VET4Youth project aims to address critical gaps in the vocational education and training systems of Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan by implementing a comprehensive strategy to enhance their responsiveness and attractiveness within the local context. By fostering internationalization through alignment with EU Competence Frameworks and facilitating virtual exchanges between EU and Southern Mediterranean VET institutes, the project builds the capacity of local providers. Through the development of an innovative curriculum and Train-the-Trainers workshops, VET4Youth equips learners with vital digital and green skills, emphasizing transversal competences to boost long-term employability. Additionally, the project establishes strong collaborations between VET institutes and labor market representatives while raising awareness of the critical role digital and green skills play in transforming local labor markets.

Expected Results

The VET4Youth project is anticipated to achieve significant results, transforming the vocational education and training landscape in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan. By addressing the weaknesses of national VET systems, the project will enhance their responsiveness and attractiveness, fostering greater alignment with local labour market needs. Through the integration of EU Competence Frameworks, it will internationalize local VET institutes, enabling them to adopt best practices and operate on par with their European counterparts.

The capacity of local VET providers will be strengthened through virtual exchanges with EU institutes, the development of an innovative curriculum, and the delivery of Train-the-Trainers workshops, equipping educators with the tools to implement modern and effective teaching methodologies. Young learners will benefit from a cutting-edge training program, combining asynchronous and synchronous activities, designed to enhance their digital and green skills while emphasizing transversal competences critical for employment in various sectors.

Furthermore, the project will establish sustainable collaborations between VET institutes and labour market representatives, ensuring that curricula remain relevant and market-responsive. By raising awareness about the importance of digital and green skills, VET4Youth will actively contribute to the twin transformation of local economies, driving progress toward sustainable development and improved employability outcomes for young people.

Objectives of the project

The EUCLASS Alliance project has established specific objectives to tackle the integration of European Citizenship Education into Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs:

1. Strengthening the EU Dimension in VET Programs: This goal aims to incorporate EU-related content into the standard training and educational offerings of VET institutions, targeting a 20% increase in EU content within VET curricula by the project’s conclusion.

2. Enhancing Teachers’ Competencies: The project seeks to equip VET teachers with effective materials and teaching strategies for imparting knowledge on the European dimension. Success will be evaluated through improvements in students’ skills, knowledge, and perceptions of the EU, measured at both the start and end of the project.

3. Boosting Students’ Knowledge and Engagement in EU Citizenship: The initiative will actively engage students in learning about EU policies, rights, and responsibilities to encourage their development as informed and active citizens within the EU.

4. Fostering Collaboration and Establishing a Sustainable Network: The project aims to create a durable network of VET institutions that share best practices and innovative teaching methods, with success evaluated based on the network’s organizational structure, collaborative activities, and sustainability plans.

This initiative presents a significant opportunity for VET institutions to enhance their curricula with EU-focused content, supporting both teachers and students while addressing broader European challenges. By providing teacher training, developing educational resources, and promoting active student engagement in EU citizenship, the project contributes to internationalization, citizenship education, and comprehensive student development, paving the way for a sustainable future in EU citizenship education.

• Ο.1. to develop digital skills and virtual collaboration capacity to support the objectives of the
  established growth strategy for the Higher Education sector by creating a Joint Digital Skills Ecosystem for the HEIs, youth organizations, trainers, academic staff and students;
• O.2 to upskill HEIs’ staff and youth organizations’ trainers in digital skills and online safety tailored to the needs of each learning environment
• O.3 to provide new teaching and learning approaches through virtual collaboration regarding the respect of other cultures and students who lack foreign language proficiency
•  O.4 to establish a sustainable open access material for long-term use and enhance the capacity of students to participate adequately in virtual exchange activities and finally boosting employability in the digital era
•  O.5 to bring together HEI staff and students from EU and Eastern Neighborhood countries to achieve a
  greater impact on HEI’s digital upskilling and elimination of cyberbullying
• O.6 to upgrade the Higher Education sector regarding virtual learning and teaching tools in order to decrease cyberviolence due to digital illiteracy

• Upskilling in Digital Competence and Online Safety: The initiative aims to elevate the digital capabilities of students, equipping them with critical knowledge in online safety and cybersecurity.
• Inter-Institutional Collaboration: It seeks to foster connections between HEI staff and students from both EU and Eastern Neighborhood countries, promoting a sense of community and shared learning.
• Innovative Educational Methods: VIRTUALLYEDU is set to introduce novel teaching and learning approaches within virtual education and training.
• Sustainable Educational Resources: A major objective is to develop sustainable, open-access materials for long-term educational use.
• Boosting Virtual Participation and Employability: The project endeavours to enhance the capacity of students to actively engage in virtual exchanges, thereby increasing their employability in the digital age.

Objectives of the project

O1: To provide new teaching and learning approaches, within the framework of virtual education and training, to HEI’s
O2: To increase engagement of youth at all levels of civic participation, and become able to embrace their role as the main driver group of social change
O3: To strengthen universal and European values, promote at the same time the European way of thinking and living among citizens of Europe and Western Balkan Countries
O4: To provide young people with opportunities and means to express themselves and their opinions, become active and contribute to the community
O5: To ensure equal participation in multicultural extra-curriculum activities of youth regardless their
demographics, social back-ground and/or any socio-economic obstacles.
O6: To increase capacity and collaboration among education actors (HEIs), in order to achieve their role as
shapers of young people in more than one dimensions (academic, civic, societal, individual, etc).

Expected Results

• Increase the participation levels of young people in the partners’ countries
• Provide young people with opportunities and means to express themselves and their opinions, become active and contribute to the community
• Provide new teaching and learning approaches, within the framework of virtual education and training, activities
• 2.500 students from Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, and EU States (Portugal, Greece, Germany and others) will participate in the Virtual Exchanges
• 250 experienced facilitators will be trained on the developed and validated curriculum
• Approximately 10.000 other students will be receivers of the key messages of the project.
• Development of a network of 50 stakeholders
