The I-RESTART project aims to reskill and upskill the workforce in the agri-food and veterinary sectors, retrain the employees leaving the heavy industry to hire them in the agri-food sector and engage some students that want to enter the agri-food labour market, improve their digital skills and facilitate the transition to the Green Deal initiative. I-RESTART will facilitate the inter-sectoral and intergenerational skills transfers through the adoption of an innovative micro-credentials methodology that will provide inclusive, flexible and engaging work-based patterns with mentors while opening the ecosystem also to external workers.
Objectives of the project
I-RESTART goal is to deliver human capital solutions to food processing, animal production and veterinary activities, via the establishment of an Alliance for cooperation on skills. In particular:
1. Development of a strategy to cooperate on skills: It will encompass various parts, from the presentation of the state of the art, the definition of skill gaps, etc.
2. Define a European core curriculum for the sector: Develop a dialogue among the stakeholders to provide the beneficiaries with the needed knowledge.
3. Training implementation: The project will address urgent skills needs resulting from Covid-19 and the digital transition.
4. Alliance for cooperation on skills implementation: An Agri-food and veterinary Alliance will be established during the project at the EU and country levels.
