MARMED
The new ERASMUS+ project MarMED – MARitime cluster Management Education Development aims to bridge the gap between the existing needs and the current skills of maritime cluster managers and to provide retraining and upskilling for an innovative professional profile in order to increase the competitiveness of the Mediterranean maritime cluster and promote overall innovation and sustainable growth in the blue economy sector.
It also aims to provide innovative and accessible customised curricula, knowledge and skills, improve the capacity building of blue cluster managers and develop a set of recommendations for the training and capacity building of blue cluster managers targeting all stakeholders of the blue economy ecosystem.
The project is co-funded by Erasmus+, the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport, in particular under Key Action 2: Cooperation between organisations and institutions. The project consortium MarMED – MARitime cluster Management Education Development is coordinated by ForMare – Polo Nazionale per lo Shipping and consists of seven partners and three associated partners operating in the Mediterranean region.
Specific objectives of the project
The specific objectives pursued are:
- To bridge the gap between the existing needs and the current skills of maritime cluster managers in order to ensure the qualification of human resources and to design a new professional profile that will increase the competitiveness of the Mediterranean maritime cluster and the overall promotion of innovation and sustainable growth in the blue economy sector.
- Establish a sustainable system of co-operation between research institutions/education providers and maritime clusters and industry, enabling Mediterranean maritime clusters to become drivers of innovation and sustainable growth in the Blue Economy Sustainable growth in the region and beyond.
Expected Results
MarMED will produce innovative and sustainable results:
- Comprehensive gap analysis report on upskilling and re-skilling needs of the Mediterranean maritime clusters
- Innovative training system for capacity building of Blue Clusters managers
- Innovative and accessible OER learning created according to universal accessibility standards
- Recommendations for training and capacity building of Blue Cluster managers, targeting all actors of the Blue Economy ecosystem
