WE’RE VERY EXCITED TO SHARE THE FIRST RESULT OF THE EDU MAP PROJECT!
The partners had met last Friday to discuss the first result of our work – the Reference handbook for substance abuse. This guide was prepared after the team learnt about substance control laws and practices in 7 European countries. It provides lots of information on the following:
– the relevance of substance abuse issue among students;
– the origins of the tendency towards harmful habits;
– what schools can and should do about this;
– the main causes of substance abuse among students;
– spotting the first symptoms of substance abuse;
– an overview of the facts and statistics on substance abuse;
– and other topics reflecting the importance of the problem, the need for help and the need for prevention.
The handbook is available in 7 languages: English, Lithuanian, Turkish, Greek, German, Slovenian and Finnish. We invite you to take a look on our website www.edu-map.eu/ where you can find this handbook and other results!
The EDU MAP project aims to prepare and train school teachers to recognise substance abuse and addiction and to learn about assessing the need for intervention and taking the next steps that can help students with substance abuse problems.
